Daniel Abraham’s Long Price Quartet has been on my must-read list for a while now, and the first of these four books, A Shadow in Summer, will be reviewed on The Ranting Dragon next month. But in the meantime, his next book will be released soon. It’s called The Dragon’s Path and is the first in a new series titled The Dagger and the Coin.
Here’s the early synopsis:
The dragons are gone, the powerful magic that broke the world diluted to little more than parlor tricks, but the kingdoms of men remain and the great game of thrones goes on. Lords deploy armies and merchant caravans as their weapons, maneuvering for wealth and power. But a darker power is rising – an unlikely leader with an ancient ally threatens to unleash the madness that destroyed the world once already. Only one man knows the truth and, from the shadows, must champion humanity. The world’s fate stands on the edge of a Dagger, its future on the toss of a Coin.
The book will be released by Orbit on April 7, 2011. I’m hoping to have finished The Long Price Quartet by then and will definitely be bringing you a review of The Dragon’s Path.
