Every now and again, a book cover is released that immediately grasps my attention. Of course, a book cannot be judged by its cover, but we all know a cover will help a lot when we’re looking to buy a good book.

This book, of which you find the cover above this article, is titled The Unremembered. It will be the debut of writer Peter Orullian and will also be the first book in a new series epically titled The Vault of Heaven. The book will be published by Tor in april of 2011. It will take a while, but I’m already looking forward to this book.

According to Tor’s description, the stage for this book is a world where the gods strive to find balance. When one of these gods creates mighty and hellish creatures, however, this threatens the balance. The gods decide to intervene and lock the god and his creatures away in a place called The Bourne.

Thousands of years later, this Bourne is all but forgotten. Until the creatures begin breaking free of it. The people decide to ignore the rumors and even prosecute those magicians powerful enough to fight there creatures.

The book is about a man, Tahn Junell, living far away from these troubles, trying to remember his lost childhood. However, his life will change forever when two strangers show up and take him, his sister and two of their friends along on a secret and dangerous journey, A journey of which Tahn knows neither destiny or reason. All he knows, is that terrible forces have been unleashed upon humanity and he has been called to stand against them.

In short, after this information, this is a book I have high expectations for. At this time, it is planned to be the first book in a trilogy. Books will be released a year apart.

It does, doesn’t it? It gives me a Wheel of Time meets Song of Ice and Fire feeling. And that must have a whole lot of potential. Can’t wait for April to come!
