I think it is absolutely hilarious that

Almost the first thing they do in this book is put Taim and Demandred in the same room together, followed almost immidiately by having Rand confront Reodran and be like 'But I was so sure it was you!" when there's really been nothing in the books to suggest Rand thought so, only that theorizers did, because it was an army where we hadn't met the person in charge yet. Way to pander to the theorycrafters.

I wasn't aware that had been a popular theory - since I never read up much about the books online, but it's not far-fetched at all. Rand knew Demandred would be a leader somewhere, would be in a position of power and authority, and he'd already met most of, if not all of them. Forcing them all into the one space was the perfect opportunity to see if he really was amongst them.

It was pretty obvious many books ago that it would be the Sharans, though. I sorta want to see more about how he conscripted them

It was only obvious because it was the only thing left. You'll never convince me that it wasn't supposed to be Taim until Winter's Heart.
