Am I the only one who knows Mario Acevedo exists?

"I don't like what Operation Iraqi Freedom has done to me. I went to the war a soldier; I came back a vampire."
So goes the first paragraph of "The Nymphos of Rocky Flats", by Mario Acevedo, an author I have not seen mentioned on Ranting Dragon.
The narrator of "Nymphos" is Felix Gomez, a (surprise!) vampire. Yeah, yeah, urban fantasy is littered with series about vampires, and so many of them are, like Felix, private investigators. But Acevedo is a fresh voice in the genre, and I hope the Felix Gomez series receives some attention and promotion on Ranting Dragon.
The other books in the series are "X-Rated Blood Suckers", "The Undead Kama Sutra", "Jailbait Zombie", and "Werewolf Smackdown".
And no less than Rick Riordan had this to say- “Warning: The author of
this book must be a
vampire, because he had
me hypnotized from page
one. I defy anyone to read
the first chapter of
Acevedo’s The Nymphos of
Rocky Flats and not fall
under its spell. Vampire
P.I. Felix Gomez is
irresistibly entertaining.”

Presumably he hasn't been mentioned on Ranting Dragon because he sounds absolutely awful.
I -may- be just a little cynical.

Nice way to shit on someone's enthusiasm for a book/book series. I purpose your taste in books is what this site should follow always.

Based on the adult-themed titles alone, I'm going to hazard a guess that those books would not be to my tastes.
