Okay, keep in mind I've only read the first book in the series so far, BUT ...

If Granuaile is really young, isn't it kind of creepy that ancient Atticus wants to be tap that? I mean this isn't Twilight here, I thought he was better than that!

Also! If Granuaile becomes his apprentice Druid, then how can they ever sleep together?? That is NOT how teacher-student relationships work! Inappropriate!

He has the physiology of a 21 year old. Just the mindset of a 2100 year old. His history of relationships gets explored in the third book. If I had to take a stab at Granuaile's age, I'd say somewhere between 23 and 26. Tie in the 12 years before she gets her tats and (probably) starts drinking the tea to get her back to 21, physically, it might get a bit... interesting. Though by that same logic, if they will both live forever[ish], and they can make a relationship work... well, then that would be ideal, wouldn't you say?

Also, in book 2, the student-teacher relationship gets more fleshed out. in a very amusing way.

Daine and her mentor what's-his-name who's quite a bit older than her (Numair, maybe? it's been a long time; I don't remember) start sleeping together near the end of this quartet.

Intimate student/teacher relationships exist in real life, but I am a big anti-fan of that Although maybe a Druidic student/teacher relationship isn't based on the same power dynamic as real-life ones, so a Druid relationship wouldn't be as squicky?

Okay, so WoK (Word of Kevin) puts Granuaile at 22 at the outset of the series. I don't think much time passes between books 1 and 3, though, so I'd put her at 23 at the most.

And yes, Becky. Numair. (That was my first foray into Tamora Pierce's work. Still love that series, though I think Briar is still my all-time fave.)

I like the Tortall books better than the Circle of Magic series, and quartet with Daine is my favorite of the Tortall world. It's been forever since I've read them though, and while I have the Alanna quartet and the Keladry quartet, I don't have Daine's yet.

On-topic: Eliar from The Redemption of Althalus is a pretty great guy.

I have to steal Molly Carpenter as one I'd like. I don't know that I would have recalled her if somebody hadn't mentioned her already.

The problem I have with this question is most of the most amazing and hardcore females I'd want, I can't even vaguely imagine being with. They're too powerful or larger than life. I can't even imagine being cool/awesome enough for them.

With that in mind, I'll name one from my youth who I CAN imagine being with. Menolly from Dragonsong/Dragonsinger (Anne McCaffery). I've always loved a girl who could sing better than I could, and without being superhuman at all, she always did impressive things.

If not for what I mentioned above, Vin, after Kelsier taught her to trust, is rather appealing. Aviendha, being one of the only younger female in WoT I can stand is also quite interesting. The Aiel in general I find to be one of the favorite races ever, that I've read about. Well, human races anyway. WASH THE SPEARS!

I would totally date Philip from The Crucible trilogy by Sara Douglass.
Sure he's a bit of a baddie at first but he cleans up alright.
And he knows how to please a woman...lots of practice will do that.
