After an entire year of The Ranting Dragon, one huge thing was still missing. Well, not anymore! The Ranting Dragon now has its very own cool logo.
Seriously, I’m so psyched about it. Nancy, a good friend of the site and member of our forums, made this logo for us, and it is absolutely fabulous. Her artist name is Aloren and she does art and graphics both for fun and freelance. She is 26 years old and lives in Texas, y’all. When she’s not messing with a graphic project, she’s probably reading—as evidenced by her love for The Ranting Dragon, I guess. When she’s not taking care of her two little boys, she sometimes does YouTube. You can find her on her personal and art tumblr. If you need any kind of creative work done, feel free to contact her personally.
Obviously, a new logo can’t go unnoticed and a cool dragon can’t go unnamed. Therefore, and to celebrate our first blogiversary, we’re hosting a little contest to name the dragon!
Here’s the deal: in the form below, you can make up a great name for our little dragon pictured above. We will select the best name, and the winner will receive a set of three How to Train Your Dragon books—you know, the books on which that amazing animated film was based. Fitting, right? The books are titled How to Train Your Dragon, How to Be a Pirate, and How to Speak Dragonese. Of course, having a ranting dragon with your name is a prize in and of itself.
Because we are in an exceptionally good mood these days, a random participant will also win the first book, How to Train Your Dragon. So even if you’re bad at thinking up names, you can join in for a chance to win!
This contest will end on Sunday, October 8 at 23:59 EST. It’s open to participants wherever The Book Depository ships—which is basically any place with an internet connection.
Good luck and creativity to you all. We look forward to seeing the naming suggestions.
The competition has ended, we will announce the new name and the winners soon!
